STATEMENT OF FAITH
This is the statement of Bible doctrine as believed and taught by the Believers of House of Power Ministries International. This statement of faith has its source in the Bible and is in total agreement with the foundational principles of the doctrines of Christ.
» We believe… The entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and doctrine.
» In one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world.
» We believe in the deity of Christ. (John 1: 1-4; John 10:30; Hebrews 1:1-5)
a. He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:30-35)
b. He was conceived of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:30-35)
c. He died (John 19:30-35)
d. He rose again from the dead bodily (John 20:25-29, Luke 24:36-40)
e. He ascended into heaven bodily (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 29-30)
» We believe that the Holy Spirit worked with the Father and the Son to create the world. The Father gave His Spirit to make us like His Son, Jesus Christ. The Jesus Christ we know is Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. He made a wonderful promise in John 14:16-17: "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever -- the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you."
The Holy Spirit is to be with us forever. He is not known or received by everyone, but only by those who are prepared for Him. The Holy Spirit shows us how wrong our sins are. He helps us to accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour. He completely changes our lives. This is called being converted or born again.
» We believe Jesus Christ took our infirmities and our sickness (Matthew 8: 17) and “with His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). We believe in the laying on of hands on the sick, oppressed and even the possessed. We thank Him for the anointing He has given to break every yoke of sickness and bondage. (Mark 16: 17-20).
» We believe that spiritual gifts are available to all Christian believers. The Holy Spirit will divide the gifts according to the will of the Father or according to the need and purpose He has destined for the believer’s life (I Corinthians 12: 11). The great Apostle Paul said that we should “covet earnestly the best gifts.” (I Corinthians 12: 31) that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. (I Corinthians 14: 12).
» We believe in water baptism and baptism in the Holy Spirit. We also believe in speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4). All who enter into the number of the body of Christ do so because they are baptized in the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9). When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, God's power will come upon you as it did on the first disciples on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). When God's power comes upon you, the Holy Spirit will affect everything about you. The Holy Spirit produces rivers of life, joy, love, peace and power to flow out of your spirit for the needs of others (John 7:37-38).
» We believe in the Lord's Supper as was celebrated by Jesus Christ and His disciples in Matthew 26:26-28,"While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is My body.' Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'" As the disciples of old were instructed to partake of the Lord's Supper by Jesus Christ, we also partake of the Lord's Supper (2 Peter 1:4), upon the instruction of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10; 11:26-31).
» We believe every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.
» We believe regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God is essential for personal salvation
(Titus 2:5, John 3:3-5, Ephesians 5:25-27)
» We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides divine healing for the body, salvation for the soul of everyone that believes.
(1 Peter 2: 24; Acts 3: 16, Acts 9: 32 – 35)
» We believe that when an individual receives the Holy Ghost, he receives divine enablement for Christian service and witness.
(Acts 1: 8; 2:4; 3:1 – 26; 4:5 - 12)
» We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost.
(Romans 15: 16; 1 Corinthians 6:11)
» We believe in water baptism and baptism in the Holy Spirit. We also believe in speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4). All who enter into the number of the body of Christ do so because they are baptized in the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9). When you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, God's power will come upon you as it did on the first disciples on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). » We believe that Jesus Christ will come again, just as He went away
(Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians. 4:16-17).
